Dr. Cathy shares some great news about Casey.

The last day of Casey’s stay was bittersweet for all of us at Hoofstock Vet clinic.  My family grew to love Casey – and even my husband who thinks we may exceeded our canine limit, was snuggled up with Casey watching a movie early this morning. I think they may have been talking man to man. My staff has been rooting for the little guy since day one and all of us had a hand in his progress. I’m proud to say he weighed in at 20 pounds.

Earlier this afternoon, Casey’s mom and dad came to the clinic to talk about food, nutrition and exercise on his continuous path toward good doggy health.

We kept Casey in our exam room while we settled mom and dad in the waiting area. With all the fanfare of a rock concert – including an impromptu drum roll – we opened the door. Casey heard his mom and he bolted out the door. Full on doggy trot, bark and a jump. Casey’s mom cried. He wagged his tail so much, he may burned up another half-pound of calories.

We spent some time again going over Casey’s routine and nutritional needs and planned his next visit in two weeks. We’ll make sure he’s progressing – and well on the way to a sleek 15 pound weenie dog.  In two weeks, I will post another photo of him to keep you all updated.
