Enough is Enough

Seriously...enough is enough! Yes, we have tried this in the past. However I'm determined! The more I have thought about the disgusting report of the FDA handling of the 2007 pet food recall, the more determined I have become.
What that report said, between the lines, is that because the FDA was "lax" in following their own recall procedures, contaminated pet food remained on countless thousands of store shelves! Because the FDA was "lax" who knows how many pets died eating contaminated dog food and cat food that should have been promptly removed from store shelves!
This must stop! And 'We' can stop it!
Think about this...There are 74 Million homes in the United States that own pets. Estimating two voting adults in each household, that's 148 Million Voting Pet Owners. Together, we are a majority. Together, we are a LOUD voice to Congress. Together we can insist safe pet food becomes a reality.
My ambitious goal is to receive One Million Signatures on this petition. I cannot do this alone; I certainly need your help! PLEASE forward the petition to every pet owner you know. It takes only moments to sign it.
Just imagine...If one in every 74 pet owners sign the petition, Congress will receive a stern notice from One Million Pet Owners determined to force change. It is long past the time Congress and the FDA realize our Pets are Important! Sign the petition and share with every pet owner you know!
If we don't do this now, another pet food recall WILL happen.
If we don't do this STRONG, members of Congress will ignore our pets as they have in the past.
Please take a few moments...
Read the Petition...
Add your signature.
Don't let the lives of an estimated 18,000 pets that died due to the 2007 recall be forgotten.

Please post the petition on your website, blog, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter...everywhere you know there are like minded pet owners that desperately don't want to experience another pet food recall.
Thank you,
Susan Thixton
