If the University doesnt teach the simple fact that murdering healthy cats and dogs in 'shelters' (Which HSUS supports) is wrong, then the University itself is a faliure, as is anyone who studdies there and learns to excuse murder. Killing a healthy living soul is not "humane".
When done to us human animals, in fact, it is called "murder".
Indeed it is murder....whether it's done to someone who walks on two legs or four legs.

Moral of the story: Murder is not "humane".

Anyone or any "university" who says otherwise, is.... well...... uneducated, and not engaged in teaching matters of facts to it's students..

Sorry about the spelling mistakes on my last message.

(The 3 stars rating is not directed at Susan...she is a five star woman in what she is doing to educate others about pet food. The 3 stars are because this "humane" university, which teaches SOME good things, doesnt teach the most fundamental fact of reality: We are all one. We all deserve to live, love and to be loved.
None of us deserve to be murdered by humans audacious enough to call their facilities 'shelters'.)

I guess I'm cheating, I always give 5 stars to any article just because I never read anything from Susan that's not worth reading.
I love my vet for the kind heart she has, but I view her much like my doctor; tell me WHAT "it" is, then I'll do the research to get the cure. (This is how I learned I was basically poisoning my pets with food.)
Until these schools "get it" instead of holding themselves superior because they are the humans, we have to be wary of them all. The students have the responsibility to say, "NO, I will NOT harm this creature", & if enough say that, alternatives already available will be used. THEY have to remember WHY they want to be vets in the first place.

That's good news about the new degree program through HSUS!

(And HSUS does NOT support murdering pets. Who's interests are being served in spreading that nonsense around, I wonder?)
