Pet Treats with Peanut Butter likely to be Recalled

The Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) is expanding the recall of peanut butter products that include a pet food grade and pet food paste peanut butter. Pet treats containing these products will more than likely be recalled soon.

PCA has confirmed a small number of samples from unopened containers from the Blakely, Georgia facility have tested positive for salmonella. The peanut paste sold to pet treat manufacturers is sold in sizes ranging from 35 pound containers to tanker containers. As of this writing, so specific pet treat has been recalled. However, if pet treat manufacturers purchased peanut butter and/or peanut paste from recalled lots, recalls will more than likely be soon. Should you be feeding your pet a peanut butter treat, call the treat manufacturer and ask if the peanut butter within the treat is from the recalled batches.
