Not even one mention of Evanger's Emergency Operating Permit problems with the FDA since 2008 suggesting, at least, the food
may not be properly processed, as in completely cooked? And still in 2009 the FDA is taking action: http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/CVM...
pet food consumers should at least be made aware of outstanding issues between the FDA and pet food companies as part of your review so they can make their own decisions I think personally. You may not agree, Susan.

I am surprised that no mention was made of the fact that Evanger's has been operating on an emergency license provided by the FDA, especially since that emergency license was suspended not too long ago. Considering that you covered that topic, I'm really shocked to not see it here.

When I first heard about the Evanger's FDA problem, I was concerned, however, when I read deeper into the matter and spoke to people who know folks at their company, I felt differently. The FDA has found no contaminated or undercooked food - the whole situation is a paperwork problem. Evanger's didn't file the proper papers to explain their method of cooking for each product they manufacture. Evanger's runs the only Kosher plant in the U.S. and they are just one of the many companies the FDA is going after. Did you know they have harrassed Acana at the border when they bring their food here for what is written the label? It's B.S. I don't believe there is anything wrong with Evanger's food, and as far as I know they have never been involved in any recalls. I certainly trust them more than Merrick who has a rendering plant right next to their pet food plant, and Merrick reps have told buyers that certain things have mistakenly made their way into the pet food that shouldn't be in there!!! The FDA should be looking at Merrick's wrongdoings instead of going after a solid company who makes good food over some stupid paperwork issue. Just my opinion.
