One simple question that could save your pet’s life!

There is a lot to know in order to properly care for the four legged love of your life.  But there is one question that every dog and cat owner needs to ask – and deserves to know the answer to.  It’s simple and it should take less than 3 minutes of your time.

This question doesn’t go to your vet or pet sitter.  This question goes to the company that makes what your pet consumes every day of its life and probably has more of an effect on good health and long life than all the other pet care products combined.  This question you ask to the maker of your pet’s food!

Pick up your phone or send an immediate email and ask…

Are any ingredients in your pet foods imported?

Poisoned imported ingredients were responsible for the largest pet food recall in history – some say was responsible for the death and illness of thousands of pets.  Recalls of countless imported products you’ve probably not heard about continue to happen almost every day.  No rules have changed in the pet food industry – imports continue to be dumped into pet food with NO mandatory testing.

You should know that most pet food manufacturers don’t like to answer this question.  In fact many that I have called have attempted well scripted evasive tactics trying to avoid telling me the answer.  A few have even avoided returning my calls or emails altogether.  I’ve been told ‘that’s considered proprietary information’ and ‘we don’t give out that type of information’ from a few.  Make no mistake…country of origin of pet food ingredients is NOT proprietary information and considering the deadly pet food recall last year – this IS one question you need to know the answer to.

If you are thinking the ‘problem’ with China has been solved – consider this…the U.S. Olympic Team – for the first time in history – will have a private cafeteria in Beijing serving all ‘shipped from home’ food.  The U.S. Olympic chefs tested local foods and discovered enough steroids to put the athletes at risk for suspicion of drug use!  If your pet is eating a food or treat that was made in China OR contains any ingredients from China or similar risk countries – change foods!

Not all imported pet food ingredients are potentially dangerous.  Canada and New Zealand for example are common exporters of pet food ingredients that have a history of high quality and safety standards.  Other than a small handful of safe exporting countries providing difficult to obtain pet food ingredients (venison, lamb, ect.) – your pet’s food manufacturer should be proud to tell you ALL ingredients are U.S. made and grown!  Any pet food manufacturer that shops for the cheapest import is acting reckless with your pet’s health.  Call or email your pet’s food manufacturer today and ask the one simple question that could save your pet’s life…

Are any ingredients in your pet foods imported?

If more pet owners knew the ‘one question’ – more pets could live safer, healthier lives.

Wishing you and your pet the best!
